2020 Ruby-throated Hummingbird Reports in eBird

From 2001 through 2012, last fall departure sightings were solicited and vetted for all 83 of Michigan's counties with the objective of determining the latest reports for each county.Sightings were provided by members of the public. From 2012 to 2019, additional departure dates were obtained through eBird. The resulting map of this effort is presented below.

Observers are encouraged to contact the project director with any later departure records than are shown here. 34 counties have 20 or fewer reports from 2001-2019 and additional reports from those counties is encourages (Alcona, Alpena, Arenac, Baraga, Branch, Clare, Crawford, Dickinson, Gladwin, Gogebic, Gratiot, Ionia, Iron, Kalkaska, Lake, Luce, Mecosta, Menominee, Missaukee, Montcalm, Montmorency, Newaygo, Oceana, Ontonagon, Osceola, Oscoda, Presque Isle, Roscommon, Saginaw, Sanilac, Shiawassee, St. Joseph, Tuscola, and Wexford).
To date, only 3 December records have been confirmed in Michigan as shown in the map above, with details below.

Hi Allen, your information on the coming and going of RTHU is impressive. I'm late to this hummingbird banding effort and still learning.
It's unusual to unheard of for a RHTU to be in Saskatchewan after mid September. This year I banded my last RTHU August 30th. My 6 banding hosts have not reported a RTHU since August 31st.
